Some Dragonslayers

Emrys is an experienced gnome wizard from a mysterious, distant village. Versed in multiple forms of magic, he is an avid reader and collector of scrolls, tomes, and rare artifacts. Although he is an extremely powerful spellcaster, he prefers to use his abilities to add to his already extensive archival knowledge of the magical world and partake in his domestic hobbies - cooking, gardening, and crafts. Very shy and awkward around others at first, he's grown extremely close to his dragonslayer friends (his BEST friends) and always makes sure they are comfortable, protected, and well-nourished for the journeys ahead. He is very warm, upbeat, and always kind, but becomes flustered during diplomatic missions because he never wants to do anything wrong or make anyone uncomfortable. He loves hosting parties in his magnificent mansion and giving his friends boosts in battle with his magical candies.

Appearance

Emrys typically wears long wizard robes in cool colors, with intricate gold embroidery of celestial themes. He is never seen without his wide-brim hat, nor his opaque magical glasses. No one has ever seen his eyes or the top of his head.

He keeps a fluffy white beard with a curled moustache. He wears sturdy brown boots on his feet and usually has pouches of potions, snacks, and spell components attached to his belt.

Personality

Emrys tries to always stay positive regardless of the frightening circumstances he's found himself in. Occasionally, he will sing a delightful Gnomish hiking song to help calm the nerves of his party members. He has the tendency to be somewhat naive, and mostly assumes that everyone he meets has the best of intentions. He is extremely quick to forgive. He loves giving gifts, especially his handmade magical confections and tinkering projects.

He can get very anxious in high-stakes social situations, or when he is put in the spotlight. He often rambles, while stuttering, when he is nervous. He is not very good at lying and usually gives away more information than he should.

Emrys prioritizes knowledge of all kinds, as well as the preservation of knowledge. In addition to his massive collection of magical tomes at home, he currently works in the archives of Archrest, sorting, repairing, and categorizing books and scrolls so that everyone can access them and learn from them as well.

History

Little is known about Emrys's childhood, or if he was ever a child at all. When asked about his parents and/or family, he doesn't seem to understand the question.
