"Nameless divinity of form and fragment, deliver me your sacred design."

Tellerift was once the official (and now unofficial) architect of the realm. However, he is also a cleric, and his faith and his craft are completely intertwined. In lieu of the pantheon of named gods, he instead worships a very abstract divinity - seeing math, patterns, and geometric shapes as the keys to all sacred understanding. He prays and communes by constructing complex glyphs that he then infuses into his architectural work, always using a combination of mathematical precision assisted by his divine "visions". During his exile, he swore to find a way to continue his craft regardless, casting a spell of mass memory erasure to do so. After originally trying to murder the dragonslayers in his kaleidoscopic pocket dimension, he's since formed a very odd friendship with them, as they simply refused to leave him alone despite his dour personality and violent tendencies.

Appearance

Tellerift typically wears leather armor with gold inlays, over which he wears overtly religious vestments - his cape and clothing are cut at sharp angles in warm colors, with dizzying, elaborate embroidery evocative of his sacred designs.

He typically carries a bladed quarterstaff, a bag of glass tiles to be used for divination, chalk, charcoal, a ritual knife, architectural tools, and his ongoing journal of glyphs.

He has long gray hair pulled into a tight ponytail at all times, with a short, neat beard. The dark circles around his eyes and lines from years of scowling make him look older than he really is.

Personality

Tellerift is known to be irritable, impatient and intense, tolerating very few people to be in his company. He hates nothing more than being distracted from his work and will lash out if interrupted. He would prefer to handle situations methodically, although his short temper almost always gets the better of him.

Despite his mostly joyless demeanor, he finds his creative process genuinely "fun" and will sometimes describe it to others, so long as he trusts them enough.

He is constantly seeking new ways to expand upon his knowledge, particularly of the ways in which he can render his divine image into the world. He will seek esoteric books, scrolls, artifacts, and forbidden materials to experiment with, or use as divination tools.

History

Little is known about Tellerift's life before gaining influence in Archrest. In Novah's dream-walking sessions, they were able to see glimpses of his upbringing, suggesting he was raised as an acolyte of more prominent gods, but failed to be accepted by them. The discovery of his abstract divinity did not seem to satisfy his superiors, who viewed it as heretical and at some point forbid him from practicing his craft.
